Description
Can f 1 is one of the most common dog allergens found in dog dander and saliva. Multiple studies link this protein to over half of all dog-related allergies and also to associations with asthma. The allergen can remain airborne for long periods of time and is easily inhaled due to its small size. Can f 1 is present in all homes with dogs and even one-third of homes without dogs.
This model shows how the allergen binds to a human antibody involved in allergic reactions. By visualizing this interaction, researchers can better understand how dog allergens trigger symptoms and explore ways to block or reduce allergic responses in people with pet allergies.
