Description

4 amino acids (L-Glycine , L-Tryptophan , L-Proline , L-Arginine ) in different representations. Models were created the Biochemistry and Structural Biology class in order to address one frequent misconception - the amount of space taken up by the electron clouds. Often students think that the inside of a protein contains space or solvent, which is not true.

Models respond to the following Biomolecular visualization learning goals (BioMolViz; DOI:10.1002/bmb.20991)

  • AR2.02 students will describe the atoms that are represented in different renderings. (novice)

The model shows the color capabilities of 3DP-Jmol (https://github.com/mariusmihasan/3DP-Jmol), our script for automatically converting structural data into printable files.
