Description

This model depicts the capsid of Ageratum yellow vein virus (AYVV), a plant-infecting geminivirus (family Geminiviridae). The structure is based on the cryo-EM model deposited in the Protein Data Bank (PDB: 6F2S). The molecular surface was generated and smoothed in UCSF ChimeraX (surface resolution 10) and exported as an STL file for 3D printing and visualization.

This 3D printable surface model illustrates the unique “geminate” twin icosahedral architecture characteristic of begomoviruses, making it useful for structural virology research, educational demonstrations, and public outreach.
