Description

Staining and destaining gels is a fundamental component of SDS-PAGE. However, the gels are delicate and prone to tearing. This process can be especially challenging for those with visual impairments.

This device helps prevent damage to SDS-PAGE gels during staining and destaining. The user first places the gel on the flat portion of the Bottom piece. The Bottom piece can be identified with tactile markers of the letter "B." The user then covers the Bottom piece with the Top piece, which can be identified by tactile markers of the letter "T." Combining these two components provides a cage like structure around the gel, which allows staining or destaining solution to flow through.
