Description

This is a portable air-powered centrifuge designed to be operated by a foot pump (e.g., Texsport Deluxe High Volume Foot Pump). The rotor can reach a speed of 5000 rpm when a lid is installed. It is suitable for field research or teaching in a classroom setting.

To connect the rotor to the spindle of the centrifuge base, a standard skateboard bearing is required. It is recommended to screw down the base onto a piece of plywood for more secure operation. An old CD or DVD can be glued to the underside of the clamp to use as a lid. Support material is required for printing all three components of the centrifuge.
