Description
This is an open-hardware package developed for learning and training activities about California Sea hare (Aplysia californica). The California sea hare is a species of sea slug in the sea hare family, Aplysiidae. It is found in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of California in the United States and northwestern Mexico. Sea hare are used as a biomedical model for research on human disease.
These prototypes were developed by the Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center (AGGRC) at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. The package was original design by Allyssa Oune. This work was funded in part by the NIH Office of Research Infrastructure Program (ORIP). It is part of a multi-year project to develop technologies and open hardware to support development of standardized and reproducible tools for the research communities that use aquatic models to study human diseases.
