Description

Radial Conductor (NIOP)

This socket system is meant to help leverage the Kwawu and NIOP socket for recipients with residual limbs too short to use without their forearm popping out of the socket. It consists of a thermoformed socket that wraps around the elbow and will be attached to an interior structure system for the arm. The wearer will push down with the back of their arm using their tricep to increase their leverage on the device, and the formed socket will transfer the power much better when bending the elbow.

The threaded connector allows the socket to be set at any height and is easily adjustable. The thermoformed socket can be shaped to fit the recipient, and several different bases will be available for a variety of different residual limb shapes (i.e. cone, tapered, and flat).
