Description
This intracranial aneurysm model was developed by Dr. Joshua Pfefer’s group in FDA as a tissue-simulating phantom for evaluating neurosurgical imaging systems that detect indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence. It is comprised of eleven files of cerebral tissue structures that can be assembled into a biomimetic model that simulates ICG angiography procedures when printed with an appropriate fluorophore-doped photopolymer resin.
The model was fabricated using a stereolithography 3D‐printer (Form2, Formlabs, Inc., Somerville, MA, USA) based on UV-curing of customized methacrylate photopolymer resin composites well‐matched with human brain optical properties.
