Description

These anatomically accurate models are from medical imaging data sets from anonymized patient data and the sternum is from the NIH Visible Human Project (VHP) data set. The models rendered from this process were assembled accurately to represent “normal” anatomy. The bones were segmented, compiled, and optimized for clear visualization, 3D printing, or other purposes (eg. Animation, AR/VR/MR assets, reference). The models were then 3D printed at 100% scale. An anatomist and surgeon reviewed the 3D prints for accuracy and feasibility of use for teaching purposes, with several iterations to ensure the combined models were accurate and appropriate for dissemination.
