Description
This design was produced by the start-up team known as MyPalate. The design was made to prioritize maximizing the number of builds that fit on a print bed, user-comfort, eliminating the need for laser-cutting, and eliminating the need for elastic straps (for V2 only). The modular design allows for the printing of up to 8 builds on a 300mm X 300mm print bed that takes 6-hours on a CR10S printer. This allowed us to complete 24 prints in a 24-hour period with one printer. This design can be produced by a maker with nothing more than a 3D printer and a 3-hole punch.
MyPalate is a recipe app start-up that is developing an app that provides personalized, culturally diverse recipes for individuals with diet restricting medical conditions. With one of the co-founders having a background in Mechanical Design and the other in 3D Printing, they initiated the MyPalate Aegis Face Shield in order to contribute in the fight against COVID-19. MyPalate partnered with Innovation Tank for production and distribution. They are a Toronto-based team of volunteers who are working to produce and distribute 3D printed ear relief straps to local medical facilities. They have produced and distributed over 6000 ear relief straps since their conception.
