Description

The Response Mask developed by Altavian is available in three sizes and incorporates materials commonly found in hospitals and medical facilities for the components that may need to be replaced. The design includes a plastic face piece, a filter frame or filter cap to hold the filter in place, a gasket to provide a comfortable seal, touriniquet straps to act as head straps, and Altavian recommends using Halyard H600 surgical wrap as the filter material, as pioneered by Dr Bruce Spiess at UF. The masks were developed with guidance from doctors at two local hospitals and have passed multiple fit tests. The design files for the injection molded version will be pubicly released as well upon dissolution of the American Mask Rally nonprofit. The mask can be disinfected and reused. The injection molded version is fully autoclavable, including the filter material.
