Description

This PPE snorkel mask adapter fits to a PLATINUM AROWANA full face snorkel mask.  The adapter effectively converts a PLATINUM AROWANA full face snorkel mask into an ICU viral mask.  The adapter fits very snugly on the PLATINUM AROWANA snorkel outlet, which is located on the uppermost portion of the full face mask.  Slide the adapter onto the snorkel mask flange, down past the o-ring, and you will have made a cylindrical chimney on top of the mask.  This chimney connects snugly to a commonly found BiPap filter - of which can filter out virus (Covid, etc).  The snorkel mask can be reused and decontaminated, and filters can easily be replaced.

This snorkel mask adaptation provides a high level of protection against virus, as it has been airtight fit tested to our model's face.  Each face is different; however, most we've tested have a complete seal fit from the mask rubber and our air-tight adapter design.  We designed and prototyped 6 versions of the adapter to maximize fit tightly so as to have no air leaks - both from the flange and from the BiPap filter connection.  Additionally, we are using a cut tire innertube to seal off the adapter to the mask - which provides an extra layer of sealant membrane around the adapter outlet.
