Description

A simple face shield that can be rapidly cut on a CNC machine out of .25" or thicker HDPE plastic.  The clear face shields are attached with a standard 3 ring binder hole pattern so they can be easily made from clear plastic.  A brow pad can be easily made for comfort and sweat protection by folding a paper towel and inserting into a slot in the face shield frame.  This can be easily replaced.   If cut out of HPDE plastic, the frames are very chemical resistant and can be easily disinfected and reused.  The clear face shields can be wiped down with disinfectant or disgarded and replaced.  The advantage of this design is that it can be cut out on any CNC machine with a single .25" endmill without any tool changes.  This allows rapid production by even an amature CNC machine.  Currently our machine cuts one every 45 seconds.  (See https://caringlikenicholas.org/faceshield/)
