Description
This design is an adaptation/remix of the "Swedish Design" that was created by Limitless Studios and can be found here: https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013600
The standard US three ring punch system and the brim were translated into a two dimensional path and remixed/redesigned to accomadate a variety of binding materials/techniques and optimized for output on a laser engraver and/or CNC machine that is set up for path cutting.
The remixed name of this adapted laser engravable version is "Somos Fuertes," when translated from Spanish to English it means "We Are Strong."
This prototype laser cut face shield bracket that is designed to accomodate a standard US transparency sheet (size 8.5"x11" with a 4.25" hole distance and a radius of 9/32" hole diameter).
- The bracket is designed to be a singlular piece that is laser cut from 1/4" arcylic sheet.
- The sides are adaptable to elastic, rubber bands, velcro, or any other binding materials that can hold the bracket in place for use. You have the option to let the smooth surface rest directly onto your forehead or add an adhesive backeked pad that is cut to fit the inner brim.
- The part is designed with vents that can either be left open or closed with clear packing tape.
- The bracket is also desinged to allow for the clear 8.5"x11" transpacency sheet to be tucked into the side of the face shield bracket. This is to promote better side coverage and integration of all parts needed for assembly.
