Description
The intent of this remixed frame is to provide a better seal around an existing mask such that leakage is reduced while increasing the mobility and comfort of the wearer. This could be used in hospitals where limited sizes of N95s do not match the wearer's face and cannot get a proper seal. Adjusting rubber bands to balance seal and comfort for the wearer.
I liked the original Community Face Mask Frame but due to the bone structure of my face, I found it difficult to smile or talk normally without creating a gap in the seal around my cheeks. I figured the fix was to remove the sides and add some rubber bands (or hair ties) instead.
The nice thing about this rubber band frame is that after you get it fitted to your face you can use it with any mask to create a tighter seal and just throw the whole thing in a bleach bath to sanitize.
Additionally, this might cut down on both print time and manufacturing time. You should only need to attach the filter material to the top of the mask instead of everywhere.
