Description
This is a remix of DtM-v3.0. It has been modified from the DtM-v3.0 in the following ways:
A side clip system has been added to the cradle/frame to replace the pegs for an elastic strap with a 3D printed strap. This is to enable others without access to elastic straps to have a means to create an attachment mechanism for the face shield.
The 3D printed strap is made to be printed in 3 parts allowing for even the typical small 3D printer to be used to make parts for the face shields. The multiple openings allow for custom fitting of the headband to individual head sizes ranging from small to very large. This may benefit from using TPU/flexible materials for improved retention on the head.
End clips have been added to help with face shield retention during movement/accidental bumps.
- A bevel has been added to the inner forehead region to improve comfort.
These modifications should have minimal effect on the efficacy of the 3D printed face shield design relative to DtM-v3.0, yet check with the medical receiving units for acceptance criteria. This model will be uploaded to NIH as a remix of the DtM-v3.0 design.
Please refer to the original DtM-v3.0 instructions for use and orginal validation.
