Description
Surgical mask ear saver designed to retain position on head for comfort
I spent 15 years doing fire/rescue and wore PPE as needed (personal protection equipment). I now wear masks for particulate and vapors when doing construction type work. Masks that stay in position from wrapping around your ears can get painful when wearing them for long periods.
This simple STL repositions the elastic bands off of the ears. This isn't new. What's new about this design is that this one uses the shape of your head and neck to hold its position instead of sliding down which puts the elastic back onto the ears.
The design of this is intentionally thin for a comfortable flex around the head. It is sufficiently strong to hold the tension of the elastic. Since it is reusable, medical and health care facilities need equipment that can be cleaned. As such I recommend you print this in PETG as it has a higher glass temp than PLA. It's important then that your extrusion be on point so the hooks are firmly attached to the flat wrapping piece and all the lines thoroughly adhered to each other.
