Description
Make4Covid is working to distribute Face Shields to the larger Rocky Mountain region with the support of community members with access to FDM personal 3D printers. Included are SOPs for printing and distribution, QA/QC documents, and files for FDM printers and laser cutters. We standardized on the Prusa Face Shield design based qualitative testings of multiple models and overwhelming requests for this design from the healthcare community in our geographic area. This modification of the Prusa Face Shield designs include material stamps that don't require supports on certain machines. The adjusted indentations support a wider variety of machines, enabling more safe production by nobbiest makers and tracking of the material used throughout our supply chain. We have removed the stiffener to support reuse of the designs in a healthcare facility per clinician feedback. Finally the DXF shield models have been modified based on clinical review at multiple institutions in the Denver Area. The DXF adjustments extend lateral shield protection around the eyes.
We recommend laser cutting 0.02" and 0.03" PETG sheets for the shield component as they provide additional durability if reuse is indicated. 3 verisons of this file are included; the short version is indicated only for specific uses while the long versions are widely accepted in our area.
