Description

3D Printed for Face Shield

This is a modified and improved design of the Prusa3D design and the 3D Verkstan design

Design can be printed in times less than 20 minutes on a range of printers and assembled in a matter of seconds.

This face shield is designed to be printed fast and efficiently.

Bill of Materials:

  • 1 x Visor (A4 Transparent Plastic (PVC Acetate (150-250micorns)).
  • 1 x Top Cover (Transparent Plastic (PVC Acetate (150-250micorns)).
  • 2 x Rubber bands (4 inch heavy duty rubber bands).
  • 1 x Back piece (Printed PLA) .
  • 1 x Shield Frame (Printed PLA).
  • 1 x Foam (Waterproof adhesive layer).
  • 1 x Suitable adhesive (Hot Glue/Super Glue).

Before Printing

  • Wash Hands for 20 seconds with hot water and soap.
  • Put on a new pair of latex gloves.
  • Clean print bed with isopropyl alcohol.

Assembly Instructions

  • 3D Print Shield Frame and Back.
  • Apply foam over the head rest (210mm) .
  • Hole punch standard A4 sheet of transparent plastic (PVC Acetate) using A6 guided hole punch on either side.
  • Cut out a top cover using transparent plastic(PVC Acetate).
  • Assemble plastic over attachment point.
  • Glue cover on to the top of the frame with hot glue or with suitable adhesive.
  • Loop elastic band around the hook ensuring its secured and insert the Back piece.
  • Pulling the back piece and frame so the robber bands are in tension pull over your head. 
  • The back hooks can be used to adjust tension and tightness of the face shield.

Post Printing

  • Allow Printer to cooldown.
  • Remove from print bed.
  • Remove any excess stringing
