Description
Over the past few days, we’ve been collaborating directly with a hospital to build a 3D-printable respirator mask with the following requirements:
- Reliable seal around the face, even when moving around
- Uses HEPA filters
- Allows physicians to breathe easily
- Allows communication without being overly muffled
- Easy to print
- Reasonably comfortable for long periods of time
- Incorporates large straps for security and comfort
- Feasible to deploy from the community to the hospital in large numbers
Basic Parts/Supplies
- 3D Printer, Filament
- Elastic straps
- HEPA Filter (non-coated)
- Squishy gasket (we found this rubber foam gasket that’s super squishy and perfect. We contacted Frost King who said it’s non-latex, but call and double-check for yourself.)
