Description
This is a case for storing N95 respirators. Under normal conditions N95 respirators should NEVER be reused. During this pandemic the CDC has eased those guidelines and allow for limited reuse. This case is only for use during emergency situations with CDC guidance. If you print this case for donation I ask that you distribute a print copy of the following CDC guidelines with the case:
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/hcwcontrols/recommendedguidanceextuse.html
There are 2 versions: with and without ventilation holes. The dial is for tracking the number of uses of the mask. Per CDC guidelines "If no manufacturer guidance is available, preliminary data suggests limiting the number of reuses to no more than five uses per device to ensure an adequate safety margin." The "Initials" area is for marking ownership of the case and mask. Per CDC guidelines "Label containers used for storing respirators or label the respirator itself (e.g., on the straps(11)) between uses with the user’s name to reduce accidental usage of another person’s respirator." The insert is designed to help maintain the form of a damp mask. There is a nose side and a chin side. The finger hole is to make it easier to open the case. The case is designed to allow for it to be attached with a carabiner. You may wish to provide one with your donation.
Please check with your intended donation recipient BEFORE printing large quantities of these. Some facilities allow non-sterile 3D hobbyist printed items. Others do not.
Use at your own risk. I take no legal responsibility for damages caused through use of this case. This type of 3D printing produces objects that are very porous and provide favorable conditions for biological growth. This also makes sterilization of these objects impossible. This case is not sealed and will not contain contaminants. Assume at all times that both the inside and outside are contaminated. During extended storage place the case in a bio-hazard bag.
You may not use this object for commercial purposes. This is intended for personal use or as a donation in times of extreme shortages of personal protective equipment. You accept all liability for donated items.
