This design consists of two halves of a filter housing, based on currently used in-line filters. The original filters are made of two halves of injection molded plastic that has been plastic welded together with a filter media disc between. This design uses a flange with bolt holes to connect the two halves together, with a filter media disc between. The input and output ports are the standard 22mm male and female ports (male side has a smaller 15mm female input as well) that was copied from the standard in-line bio-filter already in use. The filter media is locked in place with a V-groove and V-boss that mate to hold the media tightly. In the current design there is a 0.25mm gap between male and female V's.
