Description

This face shield design uses two sets of hole punches to hold a transparency film, or any other clear plastic, to the frame. This shield is a hybrid remix of the Prusa Rc3 https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/25857-prusa-protective-face-shield-rc2 and the https://3dverkstan.se/protective-visor/ shields incorperating the best elements from both based on feedback from doctors currently using them.

Improvments from RC3:

  • Top section covered to prevent droplets from entering from above
  • Faster to print and takes less material
  • Transparency rettenion system more reliable
  • Does not require elestic band to hold shield on to head
  • Can be made with a standard 3 hole puncher as opposed to using a custom cut plastic sheet

Improvements from https://3dverkstan.se/protective-visor/

  • More space for saftey googles in the front (additonal 30mm)
  • Easier to assemble becuase of larger tolerances on the transparency pegs

This shield is currently undergoing testing in some hospitals
