(-)-(S)-chlorizidine A is an alkaloid natural product containing chlorinated pyrroloisoindolone and pyrrolizine rings found in a marine Streptomyces sp.. It has a role as a bacterial metabolite, a marine metabolite, an antineoplastic agent, an EC 1.2.1.12 [glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (phosphorylating)] inhibitor and an EC 4.2.1.* (hydro-lyases) inhibitor. It is a pyrrolizidine alkaloid, an organochlorine compound, a member of resorcinols, a gamma-lactam and a beta-hydroxy ketone.
