Description

This version of helping hands is designed to be a great addition to any laboratory or shop. It includes a platform that is designed to attach a piece of wood too, in order to hold the soldering iron. The printed part uses about 263g of filament, at 100% infill, and has a very small footprint  (meaning it does not consume a lot of counter/table space). It also does not puncture or create a large imprint (from the teeth) on the wire casing, unlike most commercial equivalents. This version of helping hands is based on a design I found on Thingiverse; however, that design lacked a location to place your soldering iron, so I innovated the design and attached two plywood pieces to the modified design, which includes a mounting plate for the wood. I added the wood since soldering irons are commonly well past the melting temperature of most 3D printable materials and I did not want the part to melt from using the holder.
