Imipenem is a broad-spectrum, intravenous beta-lactam antibiotic of the carbapenem subgroup. It has a role as an antibacterial drug. It is a member of carbapenems and a beta-lactam antibiotic allergen. It is a tautomer of an imipenem zwitterion.
