Description

This dewar can be used to homogenize/grind tissue directly in a 1.5ml Eppendorf tube. The Eppendorf tube is submerged in liquid nitrogen, and helt so manual or motorized grinding is easy. The outside of the dewar is not cold to the touch and the lid has four channels for the nitrogen gas to escape from. The system uses a minimal amount of liquid nitrogen (ca 1dl), and can be used for 5-10 samples before refilling the dewar, depending on grinding time. The design require that liquid Nitrogen, Eppendorf tubes, and pestles for 1.5ml Eppendorf tubes are available.

IMPORTANT NOTES: this design MUST be printed with gyroid infill to avoid cracks to form as a result of material contraction. The design has been tested using PLA plastic. Infill should not exceed 20% and top perimeters should be set to five.
