Description
This model was created from a 3D scan of a living bacterial colony biofilm.
Winner of a 2017 FASEB BioArt award and displayed in stainless steel at the World in a Drop exhibition at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
The species is Bacillus licheniformis, grown on biofilm inducing medium.
The real-size diameter of the colony is 17 mm.
