Description

3-point clamp, with base and support mount:

This is a 3-point clamp designed as a 3d printing class project.  The total cost of hardware and plastic used in printing is estimated to be roughly $15.00 US while buying the equivalent parts (base, rod, clamp and connector) online can run as much as aproximatley $40 US.  This product is robust enough to not be damage through being droped or general lab use, yet it was not thoroughly stress tested or tested to determine its maximum holding weight limit.  It was tested to hold a standard ultrasound transducer (ATL L7.4) with no problem.

This product cannot be efficently decontaminated in the event of chemical contact - be warned.

All parts were printed in PLA.
Estimated total time to print all parts is 12 hours. This includes the base and the molds needed to apply silicon rubber to the grip fingers. The grip itself (with needed parts) can be printed in roughly 3hrs. The connector can be printed in 2 hours.
       Print parameters:Speed of 100mm/s, 0.1mm layer, and 30% infill.

Hardware requirements (needed for extra stability):
3 : M8 x 35 bolt
1: M6 threaded rod (1m - cut to needed length)
1: M4 threaded rod (85mm)
1: M4 wing nut
1: M4 nut
1: Standard Support stand rod with M8 threaded bottom
