Description

Diabetes is the #7 killer. Multiple parts of the body are affected by diabetes, but we chose the foot to highlight the fact that diabetic patients often have less sensation in their extremities, leading to injuries that may go unnoticed. This can lead to infections in wounds and because of the poor blood supply to the foot in many diabetic patients, nonhealing wounds become ulcers. In the worst cases, the foot will develop gangrene, necessitating amputation.

There are 3 files in this model set: One for bone, one for soft tissue and one for the ulcer on the bottom of the foot.
