Description

3D print made from 2D photo taken of a microscope view of the human intestinal lining showing several goblet cells with one secreting mucus.  This 3D print was made by a MakerBot Replicator 2 in my home office.  Similar 3D prints were made by sending the stl file overseas to i.Materialize with a turn-around time of 2 - 3 weeks and a cost of about $17.00 per 3D print.  These 3D prints can be used as part of a tactile learning object so that students who are blind or visualy impaired can learn by touch and feel what sighted students learn by seeing when using a microscope.
