This design is a remix of a Welch Allyn Streak Retinoscope shield from Dr. Sigal Yehiam (Pediatric Ophthalmology). The rational for this remix is that the original design requires a fairly tuned printer to obtain the necessary gap size for the transparancy slot. Additionally, the transparancy is also held in place by tension which, depending on the quality of the printer, can result in too loose of a fit for the transparancy. Due to the resolution required in the original design, FFD print times (PLA) take anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours.

The remix of this design removes the slot where a transparancy fits into and replaces it with the 6 hole punch spacing from the 3DVerkstan Visor that can be found on the NIH print hub for COVID-19. Doing this allows the retinoscope shield to be printed by nearly any FDM printer with a 0.5 mm nozzle in approximately 15 minutes. This substantial decrease in print time affords greater capability in deployment.  Additionally, it allows pre-existing hole punched transparancies for the 3DVerkstan Visor to be reused by this design without any modification.

This design has been verified to fit a Welch Allyn Streak Retinoscope when printed in PLA or in PETG. I've included the gcode for the printer settings in case that is needed.
